Pumpkin Spider Mini

Description

A fiendish predator of the pumpkin patch, this widow spider's unique abdomen both camouflages it from unsuspecting prey, and scares off larger monsters! Scarecrows have nothing on the Pumpkin Spider!

The Pumpkin Spider Mini measures approximately 2" (5.08 cm) long with a 5" (12.7 cm) legspan, and bears my signature on its belly. Its many legs make it a very poseable addition to any Halloween diorama or landscape!

I've done that "jointed" look before- I'm not sure why I didn't here. (Actually I wonder if I should have made the legs and the head green for a more camouflaged look.)

Way, way back I used to make all of my work out of pipecleaners. I was fairly embroiled in fantasy artwork back then, and I grew unsatisfied by the capes and wings I wound together.

I often adopt what I like to call a "biological" standpoint when I make my creatures. Chenille stems and felt form the flesh of the monster, so something else should form its clothing as clothing isn't made from flesh. Unless you're Ed Gein. But that's just my little formula- I really enjoy the work I've seen from you, Teblad and others.

Thanks for the critique, and I'm glad I inspired you! :)
